Directions for Pantry Mixes


Brownie Mix

What you'll need
  • 1 package The Beneficial Bakery brownie mix
  • 1 egg OR ground flax egg OR ground chia egg (see below)
       Flax Egg: mix 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or flaxseed meal with 2 ½         tablespoons of water. Let sit for 5 minutes
       Chia Egg: mix 1 ½ 
    tablespoons ground chia seeds with 2 tablespoons         water and let sit for 2 minutes
  • 1/2 cup fat of choice (olive oil, avocado oil, melted coconut oil, melted ghee etc. Needs to be in liquid state)
  • 1/2 cup warm water
Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Lightly grease an 8 x 8-inch pan and line with parchment.  Set aside.

Blend the egg of choice (whole egg, flax egg or chia egg), fat of choice, and warm water in a medium-sized bowl.  Add the The Beneficial Bakery Brownie Mix and stir with a spatula until the batter is slightly smooth.  Add batter into the prepared pan, using a spoon or spatula to spread out evenly.
Bake the brownies in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.  Be careful not to over-bake the brownies because they should appear slightly under-baked.  Cool completely in the pan before cutting.

*our favorites for texture is flax egg and whole egg. Chia egg is good but makes a flatter brownie.
