"When Diane and I were talking about the celebration of the bakery and the Summer I immediately thought about doing colors style color wave. The style that we used to wear as kids growing up with the punches of different colors in swirl and scrunched patterns. I used bottles to disperse colorways with nozzles since I wasn't able to soak any of the materials like I normally do, the nozzle helped get into small folds of the ties and patterns and as the colors sit, they can pool together and create a blend of all the plant pigment.

The shirts have 4 colorways, which is huge in the plant color world! To be able to pretreat the fabric that allows a multitude of pigments to endrench themselves into the material is something that can be very tricky. I wanted a lot of fun and bright colors for the celebration, nothing dark- colors to celebrate the growth and evolution of the bakery.

The marigold and annatto ferment has been alive for 2 weeks- marigolds were used from last year's celebration of the day of the day held at the bakery grounds that were dried and preserved.

Indigo is the deep blue hues you see which was locally grown, processed, and fermented seed to plant production from New Jersey.
The logwood is the remaining ferment from the batch our aprons we released for Mother's Day and rings true to the bakery colors.
The black walnut has the deep brown streaks throughout, is also grown and collected locally in New Jersey, and is from ground hulls from the fall and represents that with new roots brings new seeds after seasons of patience.

Fun and celebration of growth, patience, and seasons are what I was considering while creating these pieces. It's such a gift to work with dedicated individuals who also recognize the importance of celebration of mindful work <3 " - Kacie, Earth Drenched
